THE FESTIVAL
Peñitas transforms into a large, family-friendly celebration filled with energy, tradition, and fun.
A car show, carnival, live music, delicious food, and local vendors create the perfect atmosphere to spend the day with friends and family.
The excitement builds with the Hot Dog Eating Contest and the highly anticipated Backyard BBQ Cook-off, where dads and families from the community — not professionals — face off in a friendly competition to see who makes the best grilled carnita asada.
The day concludes with the traditional parade and a spectacular fireworks show lighting up the sky, creating an unforgettable night alongside live music from well-known artists for the entire community

The Neighborhood Grillers Challenge arrives at Viva America Fest to fire up the charcoal the way it’s done in the Valley.
This isn’t a competition for chefs or professionals—this is for the dads of the community, the ones who know how to make great carnita asada, juicy ribs, well-built tacos, and salsas with real kick.
